Designer Profile

Nancy Stracka is a second generation Interior Designer following in the footsteps of her mother who ran a successful Interior Design business in the 1970’s and 1980’s. She was a Fine Arts major at Indiana University and graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City with a degree Fabric Design. In 2008, she was awarded a Best of Boston® Home Award by Boston Magazine. Boston Magazine cited her ability to “conjure up interiors that are consistently color-conscious, luxurious, and filled with rich textures”.

Nancy began her career as a Fabric Designer in New York and designed home and apparel fabrics for Mary McFadden, Halston and Schumacher. After working as a buyer for Bloomingdale’s in New York and Boston, she designed and manufactured her own home furnishings line that was distributed to high end furniture stores. She started her Interior Design firm in 1989 with her husband Jeff Stracka.

The firm’s design team includes staff interior designers, kitchen designers and project managers who focus on technical design, product sourcing and installations. The design team has the ability to create highly technical design plans, elevations and renderings of client projects using the latest software. This makes it easy for clients to visualize their interiors prior to execution and implementation.

Her Interior Design firm has long standing relationships with architects, contractors, sub-contractors, cabinet makers and artisans to help complete any type of interior design, kitchen or bathroom project. Home furnishings are sourced both locally and globally with a special emphasis on contemporary suppliers from California and Europe. Projects include both residential and commercial interiors.
